Michael J O'Connor Sr and O'Connor Contracting LLC have completed many projects for us at my home at 45 Templar Rd. in Watchung NJ. These projects have included both general contracting and extensive carpentry needed for the projects. Mr. O'Connor had to supervise a team that included multiple subcontractor, including electricians, plumbers, painters, cabinet installers, floor specialist, wall paper hangers and wall board specialists as well as his own team of carpenters. In many of the projects he was the Master Carpenter, performing all the work himself. These projects include a complete wall to wall renovation of my kitchen, large adjacent 30' by 40' family room, bar area and bathroom. Other projects were renovations of an exercise room, powder room laundry room and bedroom. He replaced several doors, inserted a new large window and repaired and replaced over 1,000 sq. ft. of outdoor decking. He was able to find ingenious ways to correct prior construction deficits to enable us to pass all of our construction inspections, but more importantly to feel secure in our own home. Several more projects are in the planning stages.

From the beginning we felt Mr. O'Connor was honest and thorough. After we interviewed him for the first project, he  submitted a comprehensive bid that we felt was realistic and complete. We chose him over 2 other contractors because of his reputation, and the detail he included in his bid. We inspected the workmanship in renovations he had completed in our neighborhood, and spoke to the owners of the homes who reaffirmed our impression that he was an expert.

We have not been disappointed in our choice of contractor or Master Carpenter. The work of Mr. O'Connor as a carpenter and as team leader had been excellent. His construction bids have always been accurate. When additional work was requested, we were always told in advance what the cost would be and given options for alternative ways to deal with the project. We have trusted Mr. O'Connor to provide us with a fine finished project and feel he has provided this each time within our anticipated budget. We feel we can attest to his honesty, competence as a master carpenter, and general contractor and affirm that he provided us a comprehensive assessment of the costs of all of the many projects he has done for us. We initially used him because our neighbors offered similar assessments when we inspected their homes after projects. We would therefore assume he provides similar honesty, workmanship and value to all of his clients.
